Color Management

Havent posted much lately because the past few sessions have been intimate and boudoir style and wanted to keep the privacy of the clients and keep this blog PG-13, hope you understand :)

I did want to post about the subject of color management though. I like to have clients come back to the studio to review images for print purchasing and the main reason is monitor colors. Not all monitors display colors the same, most people do not calibrate (or know what it is) their monitors. So when the come in they see the images on a color calibrated monitor and see the colors how the will appear on a print.

Since I also post to an online gallery, so they can get a feel for their favorites before coming in, there is a simple way for you to view the images closer to what they should be. Now if you are on a mac using safari you can just go on with your life since safari already manages the color correctly for you by default. IE blah….Bet bet is to use Firefox (I am in now way sponsored by them, just like the browser) which is a free download at http://www.firefox.com once you do that download and install the color management plug-in from here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6891

Once enabled your images will appear much closer to their true intent.

Maternity: Stephanie

Please welcome David and Stephanie….I knew of Stephanie from the Miss Lakeside pageants which she was involved in, and actually David’s mom runs. Was happy to have them come in for a laid back session for their first maternity. Home to see Talon in about 5 weeks :)

Glamour: Jolie

Jolie came in…just because =o) she just wanted to have fun and get some images for herself and some she could share with family.

Maternity: Chanteau

Chanteau came in with her sister for the maternity session of her second child. She came in a bit early, between 6 and 7 months. But that just means we could get a second crack at her with hubby next time for some more traditional style. Yes we went a little outside the box on some of these.

6 Months: Serenity

Welcome Serenity who came in for her 6 months photos (well she was 7). Mom was to come in for maternity, but the day scheduled ended up being the weekend of the last big fires we had (not good air) and we never got back to it. Thankfully we got the little one in, who was full of smiles (and tongues).

July Canvas Sale!

Yep once again, I get a special from my vendors and I pass it on to you! From July 21st to July 31st all canvas all sizes are 25% off. This is for any photo session that you had in the past or have schedule before this ends. Actually if you have session after this time you can pre purchase your canvas and select the image after your session. Orders must be in by noon on the 31st for me to get them up in time.

Thanks!

Maternity: Dawn

Welcome Dawn! Came in for a kinda emergency session, not due for 2 weeks but signs are pointing to an early delivery. Danielle will be their first child :)

Maternity: Andrea

Welcome Andrea who came in today with her youngest Josh for a maternity session of her fourth child. This was an interesting session as we incorporated a bodypaint along with some standard maternity. You see Andrea along with being an English teacher is also a big time Scrabble fan (along with the rest of her famiy) so we painted a Scrabble board on to her tummy :) Special thanks to Lindsey Jackson, one of my make up artists, for doing a wonderful paint job!

UPDATE: Sophia born 7/28/08

Miss Julian

And to finish off the busy week we ended Sunday with Miss Julian coming in with her crew for their headshot portraits. These get made into autograph cards and such for use during her reign. For those not from the area, Julian is a small mountain town here in San Diego County. So it is much smaller of a pageant then the Miss Lakeside that I also shoot (same director) with this year only the 2 queens and one princess

Maternity: Heather

When it rains it pours :) To round out (no pun intended) Friday’s sessions, Heather came by for her maternity session. I have known Heather for awhile now, she is one of my friends that has modeled for me in the past. She is a beautiful and fun person to be around and I know her new daughter is gonna take after her!

UPDATE ** Born July 11th!! **
